Rainy season poetry

We are not so beautiful as we are taken pictures
No choice but to live, no choice but to show each other’s eyes
When you die, everyone forgets
No choice but to live, plants growing in the distance penetrate us,
Even if all the pain other than death is covered, I will not forgive your loneliness
Counter the rain by maximizing the speaker volume
Living without knowing how long the scent of a room filled life remains after our death
You are happy if you just live, had to be so
I will not forgive your loneliness, I will live even if you die
Even though I am alone, I grow up the light in the blink of an eye and listen to the rain
I have same life as you, an independent bright star
I am as precious as you are

This is Saihate Tahi’s poem.
When I read her poem for the first time, I thought it is a poem I had never seen before.
In this poem, she faced death and life. And I feel that she said we should live.
She told us why living is important, why we live thorough our daily lives.
When it is rainy, we tend to dark feeling, but we have no choice but to live.
I supposed “I am as precious as you are” means as it is, but I felt that it says I am here because you are here.
Her poems are unique and I haven’t seen many Japanese poems like her.
If you are interested, please check out her various poems.
